Level C-844是后室C层群的第844层。

描述

Level C-844，又名玻璃雹迷宫。顾名思义，本层级在外观上表现为一座面积未探明、存在多种分区的迷宫。目前已证实Level C-844属于非线性空间且主要由城区及郊野两部分组成。

城区

城区拥有类似前厅居民区小径的外观，处于永夜状态。相较郊野，城区的均温略高，稳定在-2摄氏度左右。

一张城区小径较宽处的影像记录，此时为后文将提到的“雪落”时间，可以看见一条陕窄的绿化带。

小径宽度不定，通常维持在1.5~3米之间，记录中最宽处约达7米。若以审视迷宫的目光看待本区域，则每条小径间的隔墙则是栋栎高度无限的居民楼。居民楼的房门难以被开启，在少数成功打开它们的案例中，门后仅为无尽的坚固混凝土。在一些宽度较大的小径里，还可能存在小型绿化带。不过，这部分绿化带中的植物大多没有生命亦无法作为食物。

小径旁立有本层级唯一光源——路灯。由于路灯洒下的光是目前为止唯一一种能融化玻璃雹的物质，所以它们的光下是Level C-844相较而言更安全的地方。

郊野

若于城区中长久保持向同一方向行进，居民楼可能会逐渐变得杂草丛生，高大宽阔的绿化带将转为茂盛的树林。这便是Level C-844的郊野部分。与城区相同，本部分亦处于永夜状态。郊野的气温永远低于-5摄氏度，且相较城区更加难以生存。

郊野经历一次规模较小的“雪落”事件后的地面摄像。

如上文所说，郊野部分表现为一座非线性树林。林中植物生长种类繁多且不属于任何已有记载的品种。这些植物据推测应拥有生命，但它们的根茎深扎地下，无法拔出。郊野的地面更加宽阔，路旁时常会出现类似坍塌居民楼的建筑。

然而路灯在本部分会变得极其稀有，这同样导致郊野的玻璃雹难以融化且照明困难。

“雪落”事件

在一名流浪者进入Level C-844后的一段时间内，必然会发生至少一场“雪落”事件。由于此事件的特性，它曾一度被认为同前厅常见的降雪没有区别。“雪落”事件的间隔、规模均无规律。它在外表上与一般的降雪并无区别，其特性在于，事件期间从空中降下的并非一般意义上的雪花，而是一种被命名为玻璃雹的物质。

玻璃雹的形态大多是不规则的多面体，直径从不超过0.5厘米。也存在部分玻璃雹拥有类似雪花的六角结构。所有玻璃雹都拥有与冰雪相同的低温。然而，经检测，它们的真实材质应与玻璃类似。也就是说，玻璃雹其实拥有同玻璃碎渣一样的特性及危害性。岂今为止，已有超过半数进入过Level C-844的流浪者死于玻璃雹的划伤及感染。因防护不当而失明的事件更是数不胜数。

“雪落”事件的规模不定，“积雪”深度在3厘米至150厘米间均有记录。落在层级地面的玻璃雹仅能在路灯的光照下缓慢融化为液体后渗入地面¹。

鉴于“雪落”事件的危害性，档案部在此强烈建议进入本层级的流浪者身着厚实坚韧的衣物及佩戴护目镜。

实体

Level C-844里暂未发现任何存活实体。但一组不结盟流浪者小队曾报告发现少量属于未知实体、布满伤痕的残骸。推测这些实体同样因玻璃雹的划伤死亡，关于肢体缺失部分的去向仍在调查中。

基地、前哨和社区

由于“雪落”事件的危害性，本层级不存在任何已知的基地、前哨或社区。

入口与出口

入口

• 在任意层级因玻璃划伤而濒死时都有概率切入Level C-844。
• 在Level 52的雪地中因冻伤昏迷可能进入本层级。
• 在蓝潮现象出现时的Level C-790被蓝砂吞没将进入本层级的郊野部分。
• 更多入口尚待探查。

出口

• 尝试吞下玻璃雹有概率来到Level 48.1-C。
• 若在城区部分遇见浓重的雾气，此时以任意手段打开居民楼的房门并进入会到达Level C-71。
• 攀上居民楼的某一窗台可能发现自己身处在Level C-28的一栋建筑上。
• 更多出口尚待探查。
