Level C-414.4 是 Level C-414 的子层级。

Level C-414.4 的概念图，其中刻意降低了冰层的棕色程度并提高了对比度与饱和度。

Level C-414.4 是一片由类似人类粪便与水的混合物后经低温而凝固结冰的一片冰原。层级内没有昼夜交替，恒为白昼，气温与地表温度基本恒定，通常维持在零下 20℃ 左右，这也导致由粪便凝结的冰原有极其优异的刚性、韧性和其他工程学强度。因此，此处成为了包括 M.E.G.等各大组织团体驻扎基地、观测站及研究所的重要层级。

经 E.P.B.分子工程部检测，本层级内解除冰冻状态并补偿等量失水的粪水与 Level C-414 内粪水的成分、成分浓度及其他化学性质高度相似，由此我们推断层级内的粪水混合物是由 Level C-414 内转移到 Level C-414.4 而来。

粪水混合物中发出臭味的分子主要有吲哚1、小分子饱和烃、高分子不饱和烃、小分子有机酸等。这些由细菌分解而产生的分子都被冻在了粪便小颗粒缝隙中，无法逸出。因此正常下冻原本身不会产生令人恐惧并厌恶的恶臭。值得一提的是，3-甲基吲哚在冷水中的溶解性极微，而其余分子在冷水中仍然具有良好的溶解性，因此冰熔化后的粪水依然会散发出粪便特有的强烈、单一并另类的粪臭味。

由于层级内的低气温，层级内的水分子结晶速率相比于其他层级会显著提高，这也导致含水物品在暴露于空气中后会迅速失温、结冰，直至变得硬而干燥。这通常可以用来保存食物，以防止其变质或腐烂。因此，Level C-414.4 的物资运输频率也会更低。值得一提，部分细菌2虽耐受低温，但并不耐受冰冻，这使得粪水混合物中细菌的含量显著减少，其中有害菌的含量极低，这意味着层级内解冻的粪便已达到了可食用标准。事实上，在一次危机中，M.E.G.成员曾经确实以层级内的粪便充饥过，详情请见附录。

Level C-414.4 内的冰层厚度极高，约为 20cm 左右。在冰层下的粪水有着更高的金属和卤素离子含量，这也使其有更低的熔点。与解冻后的粪便不同，藏于冰层之下且未冻结的粪便是不可食用的，请不要尝试食用，避免感染细菌。冰层下处，粪水的深度约为 50m，其下部是一层硬度较高的沉积岩。当其余切出方法均失效时，接触此沉积岩会成为唯一的切出方式，且恒定不会失效3。

冰原上的小岛是任何人员切入本层级后会到达的地方。在此小岛上，有若干棵矮小的松科乔木常青于此。岛上覆盖的雪厚度约为 5cm，支撑其的冻土实际上是冻住的粪便，成分与构成冰原的粪便相同。层级内为非欧几里得空间，即人员向任意方向前进数百米后终会回到岛上。层级内没有任何实体，基本不会刷新物品，发生的特殊现象较其他层级微乎其微，因此此地是适宜长期居住的。

基地、前哨和社区

M.E.G. C-414.4 综合中转仓库

由于本层级与 Level C-215 相联通，Level C-414.4 成为了M.E.G.向各个层级运输物资的中转站。这里常见的贮存物品有 杏仁水、罐装龙肉、皇家口粮以及一些含水蔬菜（在层级内冷冻）等。尽管如此，输送链的断裂对于此层级仍是致命的，详情请见附录。

入口和出口

入口

  • 切入冻结的粪便，或跳入 Level C-414 的湖中即可来到本层级。
  • 对 Level C-629 的山谷切入有概率来到本层级。

  • 切入岛中心的树可以回到原来的层级。

附录

对于 2022 年 6 月至 8 月发生暴风雪事件之概述与记录

后室时间 2022 年 6 月 3 日，M.E.G. C-414.4 综合中转仓库管理员 Smith 与其余两名成员 Tom 和 Kate 遭遇了前所未有的特大暴风雪。

6 月 3 日下午，层级内气温骤降，正在室外进行卸货任务的 Tom 向处于室内的 Smith 汇报了这一情况，但并未引起 Smith 的注意。

3 日傍晚，层级内出现明显的冷空气气流流动。此时层级内气温比下午还低，不适应室外工作。因此，Smith 指挥并带领两名成员进行室内货物分拣工作。

4 日早晨，暴风雪还在继续。4 日晚上，三人意识到暴风雪不会立刻停止，于是 Kate 主动离开仓库寻求帮助，却因环境过于寒冷而放弃计划。

5 至 16 日，三人均处在室内。

17 日，Tom刚打开仓库的门，就因过于寒冷而关闭大门。

18 日。

19 日。

20 日。仓库里的食物已经消耗一半了。三人开始减少食物消耗。

……

7 月 3 日，气温有所回转。Kate 在两人还熟睡时离开了仓库，带回来放于仓库外部的一把冰镐和一把铲子。待两人睡醒时，他们发现 Kate 已经冻伤。

15 日，气温继续下降。Tom 想尝试通过触摸冰层下的沉积岩逃离这里，但 Smith 认为，这样做对虚弱的 Kate 完全是死路一条。而且，极低温的冷粪本身也会使人体快速丧失热量，对人体的危害极大，危险性极强。故此想法没有被实施。

8 月 2 日，暴风雪还在吹。仓库内所有食物已经所剩无几，Tom 和 Smith 决定将剩余食物都交给Kate 食用，两人只喝杏仁水。

8 月 3 日，Kate 突发奇想，提议用冰镐掘开冰层，以其底下的粪便为食，解决食物短缺的问题。该意见遭到另外两人的强烈反对。

7 日，仓库内已没有了任何食物。

13 日，三人均已陷入绝望。

16 日，因极度饥饿而奄奄一息的 Tom 让还有力气的 Smith 挖开冰层……

17 日，食物来源已经解决，但是三人吃的并不多。

22 日，他们逐渐放下成见，吃的更多了。Tom 用手持微波加热装置给三人改善了伙食。

8 月 27 日，暴风雪停止。救援人员观测到这一现象后，第一时间从 Level C-205 赶来。三人获救。

据悉，此事件的发生是由于 Level C-215 的暴雪对大量层级产生了层级波动，导致包括 Level C-414.4 在内的众多相连层级出现异常。由于 Level C-215 目前暂时不会继续发生暴雪，故 Level C-414.4 短时间内也不会发生异常状态。Kate 也被 M.E.G.评选为个人二等功荣誉。
